Why You Should Add Cellulite Reduction Exercises To an Aerobics and Exercise Routine at Home

Cellulite reduction exercises are often overlooked, a method of cellulite diminution treatment. Which is unfortunate because it is natural and has proven to be a very effective form of cellulite diminution treatment.

The fact is cellulite is not extra skin or any other obscure genetic defect, as it is often times described by marketers. Cellulite is pure body fat and that's the simple truth, so utilizing cellulite reduction exercises make more sense than any other method for cellulite diminution treatment at home.

The far-fetched ideas of special massage therapy techniques and magical cellulite diminution creams, are honestly just a waste of time. Time that women could be using to benefit from cellulite reduction exercises and treatment at home. There is a difference in other common aerobics exercise at home in comparison to cellulite focused exercises.

As these cellulite focused exercises have very little to do with weight lifting and exercise training machines. In stead these exercises focus on specific forms of body movement and very specific tempo and order. Cellulite affects women of all ages, shapes, and sizes. Even some of the most seemingly fit and athletic women are affected by the appearance of agonizing and embarrassment of cellulite.

This is because although they are well-fit and athletic, their cellulite is more than likely due to the lack of cellulite reduction exercises. One of the most common mistakes made by women who indulge in aerobics exercise at home or without a trainer, is using weight lifting and exercise machines for their lower body.

An Extraordinary Study Reveals That The Best Exercise To Lose Weight Is NOT Aerobics

Hey, we all have a few pounds to lose; well, most of us over 50 have that belly roll to work on. But the best way to lose weight is not what people believe. Just walk into any fitness club and witness the wanna-be big losers on the aerobics machines.

The author belongs to a national fitness club and knows a member who rides a stationary bike for what seems like hours at a time. In the last several months, she hasn't lost an ounce AND she's most likely hurting her health.

Did You Know Aerobics Is Actually Bad For You?

A study cited by a well-known physician in a recent blog post indicates that "prolonged aerobics training increases the risk of oxidative damage in muscles." In other words, frequent hour-long aerobics sessions will do more harm than good.

But Don't Toss That Stationary Bike On The Junk Heap!

Before you junk your home aerobics machine or quit your fitness club membership, let's create a scenario like will help you lose weight and won't harm your health.

First, re-frame the aerobics exercises so that you are interval training. Here's a more healthy approach to exercising for weight loss (and heart health):

1. Pick a stationary bike or an elliptical machine.

2. Warm up for 3 minutes.

3. Repeat 8 times (working up to 8; this requires effort on your part) - 30 seconds full out (no cheating), 90 seconds recovery.

4. Cool down.

The rules associated with this exercise are to check with a doctor before you go try it, and do not exceed your maximum heart rate unless you are planning on a heart attack.

Also, pay attention to the effects of prescription meds (another reason to check with the doc). In the author's case, the drug Nadolol slows down heart rate about 15 - 20 beats per minute. It's near impossible to get to even 80% of maximum heart taking this drug.

Always Remember

And never forget - weight loss will accelerate if you include strength training to build muscle and eat the right foods. Consuming half a pound of Mother See's chocolates after an exercise session is NOT eating the right foods!

Popular Aerobics Machines

Often times when a person thinks of aerobic exercise they think of jogging or fitness walking. I know some people that stop doing much of any aerobic training when the weather gets cold because they do not want to go outside for a walk or a run. This is where an aerobics machine comes in handy. There are two very popular aerobics machines, lets take a look at them and their benefits.

Aerobics machines have become quite popular for working out because they are easy to use and generally inexpensive. They also provide for a better level of comfort when it is too cold or too hot to be outside. If you have a machine in your home, you can use it just about anytime you want. It is very easy to just hop on the treadmill in your living room when you have time to take out of your busy schedule.

There are a lot of different aerobics machines in use today. The two most common and most popular machines are stationary bikes and treadmills. You can get a great work out on either of these machines. If walking or jogging is your preference then a treadmill would be a good choice. Just the same if you enjoy bicycling then a stationary bike would fit nicely into your routine. You may also find that you want to purchase a machine to vary your routine and do something different. The bicyclist may decide to use a treadmill in the cold months.

If you are careful to evaluate your exercise routine on a machine, you can get as much benefit from a machine as not having a machine. You can also enjoy greater flexibility in when you exercise, more comfort and greater convenience.

Using an aerobic machine in your exercise routine is a great way to keep on exercising when you cannot be outside. They can also serve as a way to vary a routine and keep from becoming bored with your exercise. Evaluate your progress using a machine and make needed adjustments so that you will get the most benefit from these machines.

Aerobics or Strength Training: Which is Better?

Which is better? Aerobic training (long distance running, stints on the Stairmaster) or anaerobic training (weight training & short intense conditioning work)

I've been asked this question hundreds if not thousands of times. First I'll give what I think is best and then I will talk about whether what I think is best even matters.

I my own professional opinion and from my experiences I believe a combination of strength training exercises (with free weights, machines, or bodyweight) and high intensity anaerobic exercise (e.g. Sprinting, running up hills, or stairs etc... have yielded the best results for me and the people I've worked with. I'll take it a step further by just looking at what the elite athletes do. The first thing that comes to my mind when it comes to ideal body composition (low body fat levels) and weight loss are long distance runners and sprinters. Marathoners run and workout for what seems like forever. One hour runs 4 to 6 times a week are the norm for many of them. Combine that with strength training (which many won't do because they're too tired and over trained from running) and you're working out almost everyday. Sprinters on the other hand use short intense workouts to build their speed. Many sprint 2 to 4 times a week for about 30-45 minutes and strength train 2-4x a week for about 30-45 minutes. Many times it looks as if they're not even training hard because they rest a while between their sprint sets.

With out getting too far into the details of the workouts of sprinters and marathoners I'll say this: The sprinters get far more in return for what amounts to less time spent working out. Just take a look at an elite marathoner (they look stringy and many times weak and sickly). Now look over at an elite sprinter and they look like an Adonis (It all boils down to what their training offers them. Long distance running will improve your aerobic endurance but at the cost of you overtraining, possibly having more colds, less muscle, you not looking and feeling your best and also leaving less time to do other things you might like. Sprinting and strength training will not give you the endurance to run 2 hours but you will look better, have more muscle, less fat, have more time to do other things. So I guess it's safe to say that I think strength training and anaerobic work wins in my book. Absolutely! Now does what I believe really matter when it comes to finding what works best for you?

Here's a true story:

I had a client a few years ago that loved to run. When I made my pitch to try and get her to do sprints and strength training she rebelled. She really had no interest in strength training and she truly loved to run as it made her feel like a million bucks. How could I fight that? World famous holistic healer Paul Chek once told me in a seminar that the best exercise is the one you will do and like to do consistently. Ultimately you need to do what works for you and what you like doing. If you do a workout program that you dread many times you'll just stop doing it and sometimes you may even get hurt. So, for those who love to run: I've got nothing but love for you. Have fun, be consistent and keep it up.

Aerobics Machines - 5 Ways to Fight Boredom

When the weather is nice aerobic exercise is easy. I bike, sometimes run, go for long walks, and generally enjoy the great outdoors. That combined with general outdoor activities helps keep me fit.

Come winter or inclement weather it's much harder. Although I might enjoy a brief stint on a treadmill, stationary bicycle, or stair-master in the gym, I often get bored before I can finish a good workout.

Here are five techniques I use to help fight boredom and keep me exercising longer.

1) Reading - except very occasionally when my pace may be too fast, for example during brief sprints, reading helps pass the time. I do both light reading, perhaps magazines in the gym or trashy novels, as well as more serious business and self-improvement reading.

2) Listen to music - I'll sometimes listen to some of my favorite songs on my iPod. I like mixing both fast and slow music, but not too slow as my pace tends to naturally speed up or slow down to the music!

3) Watch TV - I rarely watch TV at home as I'm too busy and it's not my preferred form of relaxation, but I'll occasionally watch TV in the gym. I carry a set of cheap headphones in my workout bag exactly for that purpose.

4) Listen to a podcast or book on tape. This is my absolute favorite!

5) Talk to a friend. Exercising with friends always works well.

Just trudging away indoors on an aerobic machine can bore me easily. By using these tips I tend to get a longer and better workout and be healthier, and you probably can too. Try one of them next time you're in the gym!

Power Plate Better Than Aerobics? - See the Details on Madonna's New Exercise

Have you ever wondered why Madonna, despite her age, still maintains a body like that of a 20-year old? Madonna has been in the limelight for decades now. Since her first public appearance, her body has never changed. And the secret? Right diet and regular workout. Her exercise equipment? The new Power Plate!

You probably heard of Power Plate before and the effects you can get from using it. But if not, the details about this machine are something you should see. Power Plate is a revolutionary workout system that uses the principle of vibration to stimulate muscle contraction.

Power Plate's design is simple, yet clever. It looks closely as a weighing scale with a vibrating platform. You sit, stand, or lean on the vibrating surface while you do your normal workout. As the platform vibrates, your muscle is forced to contract and relax more frequently than when doing aerobic exercises or working out on a non-vibrating surface. The result of this increased muscle activity is that you get to burn more calories and thus lose weight.

This may be too amazing to believe but a study supports this claim. According to a research study which tracked 61 overweight and obese adult males and females, those who used Power Plates, along with a low-calorie diet during the course of the study, responded better than those who used a different method. Those who used Power Plate lost an average of 11 percent on body weight compared to 6 percent weight loss for those who dieted but did not exercise, and 7 percent weight loss for those who dieted and used conventional exercise. However, this research warns that standing on the surface of the machine is not enough.

This result, of course, may vary from person to person. But it doesn't change the fact that using exercise equipment such as Power Plate can definitely help you lose weight.

Weight Loss and Exercise - Aerobics and Weight Training, the Perfect Combo

I need to lose a few pounds of fat like most people reading this, and I know I will. I'm just up a few "winter" and "holiday" pounds right now, and through semi-sensible eating and exercise the weight will melt away by springtime. The question arises, since most of us know how to eat right (whether we do or not), what type of exercise is best for weight loss for most of us?

What is best is a combination of aerobics and weight training. Aerobic activity like running, swimming, skiing, basketball, and yes, walking, burn calories fairly efficiently which is what you need. There is a lot of variety possible, and should you live where the weather is occasionally inclement, you can move inside to walk in the mall or exercise on machines in your health club or home. Unfortunately aerobic activity only burns calories when you are doing it, which should be no surprise.

If you add weight training, which could be free weights, resistance machines, or even rubber bands/tubes, you may burn less calories when you do it, but it builds muscle. Muscle burns calories even when you are not exercising, for example when lying in bed or on the couch watching TV. It's the perfect complement to aerobic activity.

You can do your aerobic activity and weight training on separate days, or on the same day. There is no rule and you can do whatever works best for you.

Remember, the perfect combo for weight loss is aerobics and weight training, and unfortunately watching what you eat.

Burn Calories with Aerobics

If you are tired of feeling tired, you should begin focusing not only on the calories you consume, but rather on building your body's shape and training your strength. By focusing on strengthening your muscles, you are building a body machine that is capable of lifting easier, standing for a longer period of time, running quicker and further, and performing in general; better. But, most importantly by investing on your physical state, you are transforming your calorie burning machine -your body- to that better enhanced version you always dreamt of having; the best part is that this is still you and not a movie character. Thus, if you wish to burn more calories while increasing your strength and ability to function better, but you would like to avoid registering for the aerobics class your gym offers, you can now perform another type of aerobic exercise that you will repeat with a smile on your face.

No, I am not joking. Aerobic exercises are in fact exercises that offer your body the much needed oxygen to operate and for your muscles to burn more calories. So, instead of trying to put on those tight pants you so much dislike, you can sweat up and exercise while doing some of your house errands. Everyday activities can provide you with all the aerobic benefits you so much wish for without having to suffer by looking yourself into the mirror while wearing those ugly exercise Lycra uniforms.

Cardiovascular activities, like walking or even gardening, can provide into your daily routine with the needed levels of exercise you need. After all, you will feel proud that you went shopping, cut your lawn, or washed the dog, and at the same time were doing an aerobic exercise. Just imagine that by walking for 10 to 15 minutes, twice a day, even without dieting you can reduce your size by two whole numbers! fitness experts also state that aerobic exercise can significantly reduce your waistline, since this type of physical activity targets your abdominal area which is where all that belly fat usually resides. But the best part is that aerobic exercising is not only for those stubborn bulges around your waist. It is one of the best exercising methods known, to burn more calories and improve the state of your health. People that regularly perform activities that could be classified as aerobic types of exercise, run a lower risk of suffering later from cardiovascular diseases, stroke, diabetes, depression, Alzheimer's disease, and in some cases even cancer.

So, in order to keep fit and improve your overall ability to burn calories sooner and for longer, find a physical activity you like and make it part of your daily routine. Then find the next and so on and so forth. By performing the ones you select once or twice a week, you are less likely to quit, since you add variety to your program and most importantly you complete a number of jobs around the house.

Now, in case you do have time to explore a more "advanced" way of performing an aerobic exercise, you can always join that gym class, go dancing, start up swimming or tennis, or even learn kickboxing and tai chi. The list is endless and the only thing missing from the equation is you in order for it to be successfully solved:

Aerobics + You = More Calories Burn = Increased Level of fitness
